UK violinist and folk master Dave Swarbrick was one of the country's most celebrated folk musicians. Considered one of English folk music's most innovative figures, Swarbrick was responsible for bringing the electric violin to a genre that had traditionally been dominated by acoustic instrumentation. Swarbrick has played alongside folk music's finest, and toured throughout Europe, playing a repertoire spanning decades of rich English folk history to a loyal folk fan base. In 2016, Swarbrick died at the age of 75 due to pneumonia.
