About
Blue Hawaii is a Montreal-based duo, comprised of female vocalist Raph Standell-Preston and producer Alexander Cowan, that released its debut EP, Blooming Summer, in 2010. The album's eight tropical-sounding, dream pop-inspired songs managed to encapsulate a certain warmth and tonal color that is oftentimes absent in much modern electronic music. Opting to evolve its sound further with its followup LP, 2013's Untogether, Blue Hawaii has refined its instrumental approach by focusing on sharp and pristine sounds--creating a impressive production sheen.
