About
Formed in 2002, A.F.C. Wimbledon is an English football club that competes in the EFL League One. Also known as the “Wombles”, it has claimed a lot of silverware enroute its monumental rise to the League One in 2016. Notable Trophies won by the club include the Football Conference South, Isthmian League Division One and the Combined Counties League Premier Challenge Cup. Since its inception it has shared a strong animosity with MK Dons which resulted in a fierce rivalry post the club’s promotion to League One. Notable players to have represented the Wombles include Adebayo Akinfenwa, Deji Oshilaja and Marcus Gayle.
