Jared Mees and the Grown Children are a Portland based six- piece band with a cheerful sound characterized by chord progression and uptempo beats, despite the happy go lucky feel to many of their songs, the lyrics are often introspective and speak to the harder times of life. Jared Mees uses friends' and family members' experiences to tell his stories through song. The band has released two albums off the record label Tender Loving Empire.
