Many Hollywood actors have tried to break into the music scene after establishing their acting careers but for Jason Schwartzman, music was his first calling. Before taking his roles in films such as The Darjeeling Limited, Rushmore, and I Heart Huckabees he was the drummer and songwriter for the band Phantom Planet for nearly ten years. After leaving the band and starring in various films, there was no doubt Schwartzman would find his way back into music and in 2006 he formed the indie pop solo act, Coconut Records. This one-man band, where Schwartzman writes all his own songs and plays most of the instruments himself, indulges indie audiences with fun and vibrant catchy melodies.
