The The, a post-punk band from England, has been on the music scene since 1979. The band's work has earned it critical acclaim as well as commercial success in its home country. Infected - its most successful album - ruled the charts for 30 weeks. Its other albums like Mind Bomb and Dusk were also commercially successful. Singer-songwriter Matt Johnson has been the only permanent member of the band. Their most famous songs include "This Is the Day" and "I Saw Light."
