About
The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is a symphony orchestra based in Cincinnati, Ohio that came about as a consolidation of several smaller orchestras that formed in the mid-19th Century. Since forming into its current incarnation in 1909, the CSO has been generally considered to be one of the United States' strongest orchestras, and has performed the US premiers of works by several world-renowned composers such as Gustav Mahler and Aaron Copland. The CSO continues to hold the mantle of being an extremely popular orchestra, and in 2010, the orchestra established its own record label with its first album American Portraits released in 2011.
