Born and raised in Bristol, the UK-based producer Joker began his career DJ'ing in a hip-hop collective at the age of 14. As he became more involved with the group, he began realizing that he wanted fewer genre limitations and the freedom to create his own individual work; the desire resulted in Joker spending a good deal of time in the studio, learning production techniques and perfecting his skills. By 2009, the young producer's grime-heavy dubstep began receiving attention from the likes of BBC's Mary Anne Hobbs as well as US and UK electronic magazines, like XLR8R and The Wire.
