In 2001, music teacher Mercedes Trujillo entered the Eurovision Song Contest with her song "No Pidas Mas Amor." Finishing in sixth place and shortening her name, Merche signed to Vale Music and began work on Mi Sueno, her debut album. Since its release, Merche has embarked on a world tour, performed her music on a number of television programs and seen no less than four of her albums go platinum.
