About
The Kansas City Symphony is an orchestra based out of it's eponymous namesake that replaced the Kansas City Philharmonic in 1982 as the city's premier high art sonic institution. The orchestra typically has around 80 talented, full-time musicians on staff and perform a 42-week season each year. From music education to regional tours to performing and recording some of the most beautiful works from the standard classical music repertoire, the Kansas City Orchestra is considered by many to be the jewel of the Midwestern musical community.
