Entering the Italian alternative music scene in 1996, Avvolte embodys much of the 1990's grunge-rock flavor without the flannels and torn jeans. Although the band's first album, Progeny, had little support from radio stations in their home region of Piedmont, Italy, it went on to make three more successful albums packed with power rock ballad's. The band's 2008 record, Avvolte Kristedha, demonstrated a softer edge in delivery and willingness to take their music to a more refined level.
