Italian singer Daniela Miglietta goes by the stage name Mietta. Although she started out as a model, she participated in the 1988 Festival di Sanremo in the New Comers category. During this winning performance, her deep and verbose voice grabbed the attention of songwriter Amedeo Minghi, who wrote "Canzoni" for her the following year. Since her 1990 debut album, named after her first single, Mietta has released ten full length studio albums over two decades. Her 2011 effort, Due Soli, exhibits maturity in style and lyrics that is only gained through experience.
