Our Lady Peace is a Canadian alternative rock band that was formed in 1992. Riding a wave of success in the late 1990s with a slew of other bands that categorized themselves under the "post-grunge" genre, Our Lady Peace managed to distinguish itself from its peers with a sound that pulled heavily from a alternative rock sonic aesthetics with a defined pop punk sensibility. Though Our Lady Peace has had more commercial success in its native Canada, the group has nevertheless latched on to a fairly sizable fan base in the United States as well.
