Oakland-based duo Chen Santa Maria (George Chen + Steven Santa Maria) are a steady presence on the San Francisco music scene, frequently playing shows with other experimental bands whose releases you are likely to find in the Aquarius Records store. With guitars and electronics they create hypnotic noise music, which far from being evil or oppressive, is actually quite lovely - if you aren't afraid of bone-rattling volumes, which are a prerequisite for enjoying their output.
