San Francisco's Common Eider, King Eider was founded by Rob Fisk (ex-Deerhoof, Badgerlore, 7 Year Rabbit Cycle). Theirs is a brand of experimental guitar drone music which flirts with such genres as doom metal and folk. According to Fisk, one of the main sources of inspiration for the band's work is the nature of Alaska, where he regularly travels to. Common Eider, King Eider has performed at the renowned On Land experimental music festival, and opened for such notable bands as Woven Hand and Liturgy.
