Amana Melome

About

Born in Germany and raised around the globe, Amana Melome has been exposed to world music for her whole life. These international influences are clear in her own music, a fusion that is, at it's core, soul. The influence of her grandparents, jazz musicians, and her parents, still active musicians, color Amana's music with the sounds of the Caribbean Islands and Europe. Amana recieved her BA in the US, where she recorded her first album, Indigo Red, in 2008, which became one of the first CDs distributed and sold through Whole Foods Martets. This album brought her quick success, especially in Europe, where she headlined festivals and performed at private events for Fendi and Christian Dior. Rhoenix Rising, her sophomore album, was recorded in Los Angeles and released in May of 2011.
