András Schiff is a Hungarian-born concert pianist from Budapest, Hungary (now a British citizen) whose illustrious career has produced several award winning recordings. He is best known for his performances of works by German composers such as Bach, Mozart, Schumann and Schubert. Schiff won the Grammy Award for "Best Instrumental Performance (without Orchestra)" in 1990 for his recording of J.S. Bach's English Suites. Generally acclaimed for his exquisite artistic sense, András Schiff has already gone down in history as one of the greatest pianists of his generation.
