Ruined (Korean: 폐허/Pyha) is an ambient/black metal one-man act from Seoul that recorded its debut record when the creator was only 14 years old. Indeed, acclaimed black metal acts in this day and age are few and far between, even in areas where the genre has a substantial number of listeners and fans, however, the recent release of a successful ambient black metal album by a South Korean 8th grader has caught most connoisseurs of the genre completely off-guard. Celebrated for its surprisingly mature mixtures of sound that create dark, distressing landscapes the evoke an emotional response it its listeners, Ruined stands as perhaps the most highly-regarded South Korean black metal artist, if not the youngest musician in the genre period.
