Often referred to as simply ÖIS, Örgryte IS is a professional football club based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Founded in 1887, the club is one of the oldest active sports clubs in the country and even participated in the first football match in Swedish history, which was played against Idrottssällskapet Lyckans Soldater on May 22, 1892. Örgryte IS won its first Swedish Championship in 1896.
