The Walkabouts is an alternative rock band from Seattle, Washington that deviates a bit from the standard alt rock formula by incorporating elements of country, indie and folk rock into its act. Drawing inspiration from some of the most legendary acts of country and folk rock, as well as French chanson, strangely enough, The Walkabouts has amassed quite a large cult following due to its eclectic range of styles. Although the band has not reached a significant level of fame in the US, The Walkabouts have become and incredible commercial success in Europe, where the band has been promoting its music since the early 1990s.
