About
Crosby, Stills, and Nash is an iconic folk rock band that was formed in California in 1968 by David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash. Sometimes called Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young when joined by their fourth band member Neil Young, the band creates complex three or four-part harmonies accompanied by intricate guitars, piano and a funky rhythm sections. During its early years, the band released two chart-topping multi-platinum albums, a self-titled 1969 effort and 1970's Déjà Vu, even while each of its members had successful solo projects. However, tension began to grow within the band and the success of Neil Young's solo work in particular put a heavy strain on the group's dynamic. For a time the group members went their different ways, only to attempt a reunion in 1973, again in 1974 and finally in 1977 when Crosby, Stills, and Nash finally found a balance between its different personalities. Though they never regained the same momentum, the group has nevertheless produced quality albums such as 1977's CSN, and continues to play live shows around the world.
