The Denver and New York City-based band operates under the slogan of "Putting the core in corporation," referring to its hardcore punk sound, and writes songs with sarcastic names, such as "One Click Away" and "Microsoft Outlook." The group channels the breakneck rhythms and short bursts of aggression that put bands like Black Flag and Minor Threat on the map in the 1980s, while its members wear sharp suits, slacks and glasses onstage--all adding to the appeal of Powerpoint's satirical outlook.
