Combining the classic polka of Frankie Yankovic with a rock and roll approach, Polkanauts is one of Denver, Colorado's more popular--and outrageous--live acts. The group's five members all take their unified name to heart, quite literally wearing astronaut costumes onstage while performing their amplified, rollicking versions of the classic Czech, German and Polish genre. Polkanauts strange amalgamation of theatricality, high-energy performances and crossbred styles should continue to keep it an in-demand act throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
