Night of Joy

Formed by Bree Davies after The Hot House--her former dance pop band--broke up, Night of Joy uses some of that group's leftover kinetic energy and combines it with jagged, guitar-driven indie rock. The band is based in Denver, Colorado and took its name from the title of a Breeders' song, which lends a decent reference point to the sound Night of Joy strives to create. Jittery but danceable post punk rhythms populate much of the band's material, while spiky guitars and lo-fi production keep it firmly rooted in rock and roll territory. Night of Joy has become a popular live act around Colorado and has even performed at some of the state's bigger music festivals, including The UMS.
