Nathan & Stephen

About

Though it originally formed as a two-piece, Nathan McGarvey (vocals) and Stephen Brooks (drums) eventually pieced together a nine member band to help flesh out their bouncy indie pop songs. The two pulled musicians from a number of popular Denver bands, including Five Iron Frenzy, Black Black Ocean and Boyswholikeaudrey, who all contribute vocals and instrumentation to Nathan & Stephen's high-energy performances. Due to the sheer size of the group, the band sounds huge, and its communal vocal approach blends with the catchy songwriting to make for some spirited and fun live shows. Nathan & Stephen reformed at the UMS festival in 2010 after temporarily breaking up a couple years prior.
