Based on the world-famous novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, Oliver! is a musical created by Lionel Bart that premiered to much acclaim on London's West End in 1960. Following a successful premier on Broadway two years later, the musical was adapted into the Academy Award-winning film of the same name in 1968.
