A-Mei (Chinese: 阿妹), also known by her birth name Chang Hui-mei (Traditional Chinese: 張惠妹), is a native Taiwanese pop singer/songwriter. A-mei made her debut in the world of music with the album Sisters, which she achieved rapid commercial success with. Due to her unique background, she has applied abundant local Taiwanese elements to her music, which helps her stand out from her fellow singers, helping her gain the title: Pride of Taiwan.
