Conceived in a basement in Owatonna, MN Owl City is an electropop project by singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adam Young. After earning an online fan base with two independent efforts released via MySpace, Young was signed to Universal Republic records and released Owl City's debut album Ocean Eyes, in 2009. The album went certified platinum and featured his hit song “Fireflies,” which peaked at number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Top 40 charts. Owl City released its third studio album The Midsummer Station, in 2012.
