Mancub

About

Mancub is a Denver-based electronic rock duo that is comprised of Alex Anderson and Danny Stills. The two formed their pairing in 2010 when they began experimenting with circuit-bent keyboards, old analog synthesizers and beat-up drum machines. The result of all this tinkering eventually yielded a cohesive electronic sound with dashes of both chaotic noise rock and bouncy 1980s synthpop. Rather than rely too heavily on playing prerecorded tracks on a laptop--as many modern electronic musicians do--Anderson and Stills impressively recreate their Mancub songs live onstage with the help of effect pedals, guitars and loop stations.
