A testament to the now commonplace means of the digital age, Block Scholars is a hip-hop project that's members--all scattered across the US at the time--came together via Myspace. Originally a trio but now pared down to NOBULL and Slimdog, the group is entirely self-contained, writing and producing all of its tracks on its own. The duo is inspired by a broad range of influences that includes everything from opera and jazz, to Prince and gangsta rap. These eclectic tastes shine through in Block Scholars' music and has helped the now Colorado-based group develop a characteristic sound that has struck a chord with several pockets of hip-hop fans.
