Specializing in sprawling, shoegaze-drenched, neo-psychedelic balladry, Fellow Citizens firmly believes that it falls in the "post indie rock" category. Relying on primarily instrumentals of the epic variety it's easy to see how the band would get grouped in the post rock set, but it's the addition of the occasional wordless harmonies that align it closer to indie rock. At the core of Denver-based Fellow Citizens are four male musicians, but the group sometimes swells into a six-piece with the addition of two female vocalists/musicians. Since forming in 2008, Fellow Citizens has amassed a good amount of positive press, which has helped gain the band opening slots for the likes of A Sunny Day in Glasgow, Akron/Family and Beach Fossils.
