Clara May found its roots in Granada, Spain, in 2008. Malaysian filmmaker and writer, Tom Silva, and Nicole Setelo, Harvard-trained theologian and author, wrote ten songs together that combined 1960s folk, grunge, and anthem rock. With the help of producer Pillip Amerson, Drummer Nate Pusateri, Bassist Michael Sinclair, and Organ/ Keyboard player Marcus Smith, Clara May developed their debut album, Hush, which explores themes of identity, racism, and war, aiming to raise awareness of social issues.
