About
The Black Twig Pickers is an Appalachian folk band with members hailing from both Virginia and West Virginia. Studying the traditional sounds of its home region, the band takes a personal approach to songwriting and performing, dodging the indie elements that are so often prescribed to modern folk and rather channeling the original spirit of old-time music. The Black Twig Pickers released its debut album North Fork Flyer, in 2001, and has since continued to carry the Appalachian folk tradition into new generations.
