FC Tambov is a Russian football club based in the city of Tambov. Founded in 2013, the club began its journey in the third tier of the nations league system. The team was quick to find its footing in the league and three years later it was promoted into the second division. Its form continued to grow over the next few years and in 2019, it created history by earning a promotion into the Russian Premier League after finishing in second place.
