PFC CSKA Sofia is undoubtedly one of Bulgaria's most successful clubs. Founded in 1948, the club gained instant popularity as it won its first ever domestic championship in its debut season. Since then it has gone on to become a donating force, racking up a record number of Bulgarian A Group and Bulgarian Cup titles. Its phenomenal domestic form has also been replicated at the European stage and although it is yet to win continental silverware, it has been semifinalists on two occasions. CSKA Sofia is also known for its rivalry with Levski Sofia. Games involving these two giants are dubbed as "The Eternal Derby of Bulgaria".
