Keith Top Of The Pops & His Minor UK Indie Celebrity All-Star Backing Band began with an impromptu gig in 2006 when British indie rock outfit Art Brut's opening act had cancelled the night of a show. Keith Top and two members of the headlining band threw an act together with no rehearsal time and performed an acclaimed set at The Knitting Factory. Since it's unlikely introduction to the world, the band has stayed true to its no rehearsal and no sound check rules while still managing to maintain a cohesive sound, even with roughly 26 members and live shows that consist of whoever shows up in time to play. The band's debut LP, F*ck You! I'm Keith Top of the Pops, was recorded in one take and released in the summer of 2011.
