Formed initially as a duo in the fall of 2009, Bonnie and the Beard started writing songs that blended soulful female vocals (Bonnie) with gritty down-home Americana (the Beard). The result was a form of modern, stripped-down blues-rock that gained an edge when the group added a drummer and switched from acoustic instrumentation to electric. With lyrics that tell of whimsical wanderings, and of cowboys and gypsies, Bonnie and the Beard keeps the listener hooked and has consistently been lauded by various Denver publications that are proud to identify the band as a local gem.
