The Lumineers is a three-piece folk outfit that got its start in 2002 when two of the group's members began writing songs together in New York. After relocating to Denver the duo added a cellist to its lineup--thus solidifying its stripped-down, yet full bodied indie folk sound. The band's 2011 debut single "Ho Hey," featured on the television series Hart of Dixie and a series of Bing commercials, earned The Lumineers instant commercial success that carried through to the release of its self-titled debut album in 2012.
