While Archeology might seem like an odd fit for an indie rock band name, it becomes much more fitting after learning that the group's songwriting duo of Jason Davis and Daniel Walker in fact met on an archeological dig. The two kicked around Washington state for awhile before eventually relocating to Portland, where the roots of Archeology now lie. Recently expanded to a four-piece, the band plays an easily approachable blend of folk and modern indie pop full of lively percussion, sunny melodies and subtle neo-psychedelia. Archeology released its debut LP, Memorial, in 2010.
