Heavily inspired by popular post hardcore indie rock bands such as Cap'n Jazz, Drive Like Jehu and Slint, Accordion Crimes strips its moody songs down to the bare essentials--three or four chords, simple arrangements and raw, high-energy live performances. Like the aforementioned groups, the Denver, Colorado-based trio can switch from quietly meandering and hypnotic, to blisteringly loud and frenetic at the drop of a hat. The result is a simple but effective take on indie rock that should also appease fans of punk's visceral appeal.
