Inspired by bands like Radiohead and Sigur Ros for their focus on capturing sonic depth and very specific moods on their albums, 200 Million Years formed with the intention of merging rock, ambient and electronic music. The Denver, Colorado band is experimentally ambitious, yet hardly unapproachable, thanks in large part to a melodic sensibility that remains intact no matter what the glitchy rhythms, manipulated guitars and electronic flourishes are doing underneath it. Visuals are a big part of 200 Million Years' style as well, as the band creates short films to accompany each of its songs while performing live.
