All girl sketch comedy troupe Lady Garden formed when the ladies were studying at the University of Manchester and decided to start a comedy night. While the original troupe consisted of around 30 members, who wrote and performed in smaller groups, rather than as a whole, after graduation the collective was whittled down to a core of five to six members. These lasses continued in the tradition of their comedy night, showcasing character acting and various surreal scenarios, but strove to create skits that involved the entire group. The results have provided Lady Garden with a good amount of success and has won the troupe slots at festivals like Latitude and Fringe, as well as on BBC Radio Two.
