With an enigmatic stage presence that finds him wearing a bizarre hand-crafted mask to hide his face, Arandel makes a point to keep his identity secondary to the trippy electro-organic sound collages he creates. The French artist is impressively dedicated and stubborn in his philosophy and approach to music, using only analog synthesizers and rejecting MIDI or digital plugins. The result is a heady and atmospheric mishmash of minimal house, experimental and organic ambient music that has led French electronic fans to classify him in a genre all his own.
