Ruth Minnikin (and her Bandwagon)

A veteran of the Canadian indie music scene, Ruth Minnikin has played a role in 1990s pop group Booming Airplanes, her chamber pop side project The Heavy Blinkers and the alt country band The Guthries. In the early 2000s, however, the Nova Scotian singer/songwriter decided to focus on a solo career and now performs regularly with her backing band under the moniker Ruth Minnikin and her Bandwagon. Her solo work cohesively blends the bands of her past into folk-pop ditties with a subtle Americana twang, and has won her multiple awards and accolades. When not busy with her solo work, Minnikin has contributed her vocals and instrumentals to over 45 recordings for other artists.
