Formerly a member of the Canadian shoegaze outfit, Kill the Lights, Alex Hackett took matters into his own hands with his solo project, Pang Attack. Besides the ethereal guitar style he employed with Kill the Lights, Hackett writes and performs everything in Pang Attack's songs, from bass and drums, to keyboards and synthesizers. Stylistically, he takes the signature shoegaze rock sound of his former outfit and slows it down a bit, embracing a more dynamic range and a focus on tightly-wound pop songcraft along the way. Dreamer's Drug, Pang Attack's debut EP, was released in 2011.
