Luxury Bob

Though technically a full five-piece band, the core of Luxury Bob rests in the songwriting partnership of Donna Kerbel and John McMullin. The pair writes quirky pop songs that, with influences ranging from lounge to cabaret, don't fully sound like a product of modern times. Kerbel sings with the sultry tone of an old, smokey jazz club diva, while McMullin's piano arrangements are steeped in classic vocal pop from the first half of the 20th Century. The Toronto-based group takes its recordings very seriously as well--evidenced by the nearly 100 songs it recorded and sifted through to make up the track listing of In Flagrante Delicto, its 2011 debut LP.
