Chico, California-based band The Shimmies is the work of brothers Jimmy and Sean Galloway, and is largely their musical vision. Drawing on the modern acoustic folk of folks like Fleet Foxes and The Avett Brothers, The Shimmies create heart-centered folk rock that relies on the melodic crooning of the two brothers and emo-type lyrics a la Bright Eyes. The band has gained both critical and fan-driven response, foreshadowing what will likely be a successful run in the music business.
