When she's not performing with her indie pop group, Beekeeper Society, or playing keys for her electro rock outfit, Girl + The Machine, Lauren Best moonlights as a solo performer. The Toronto-based singer/songwriter writes light, agreeable pop songs that are carried by her keyboard playing and direct vocal style. Together with her band-mates--who support her with horns, stand-up bass and brush-stroked drumming--Best indulges in an impressive number of genre workouts ranging from folk pop and reggae, to jazz and vintage soul.
