Hamilton, Ontario artist Drew Smith creates plaintive singer/songwriter material that is often bolstered by lavish production values. With a voice that is eerily similar to Thom Yorke's falsetto during the early stages of Radiohead, he combines both acoustic and electric guitars, banjo, drums and keyboards to craft his melancholic, but pretty, tunes. Smith's ability to simultaneously employ both folk-y pop and emotive mope rock elements has given him a wide-reaching appeal that's earned him a strong following throughout Ontario.
