The Canadian garage rock duo Black Magick Fox is comprised of a guy and a girl who both have respective talents highlighted when they play together. Allyn Hollywood's knack for writing catchy vocal hooks coupled with Ricky Knickles' aggressive guitar playing manage to create a sparse yet endearing style of music that's clearly created by two individuals who put a lot of heartfelt conviction into their songwriting. Formed in 2009, Black Magick Fox spent its formative years honing its approach and narrowing in on the sound, that is now considered the group's characteristic style, before playing live shows and building a reputation as one of the more interesting up-and-coming Canadian bands to emerge in recent memory.
